Exmouth Beach 4s
Tournament
 |
Thanks to all who competed in the 2011 Beach 4s Tournament. Competitors
and spectators were treated to a lovely sunny day with a slight breeze to
keep the temperature down. Many who took part also took advantage of the
massage tent set up by Exmouth Massage Clinic, thanks to them for offering
a great service. We hope to see them at our pairs tournament in August.
All divisions had lots of fairly close matches which meant some
exciting volleyball was played.

In the Men’s Div 1 P.S. Your Face stepped up their game to take the
winning spot against No Spikey No Likey. Men’s Div 2 saw Tip Top closely
beat Yeovil in the final by only 2 points. In the Women’s Fat Bottomed Girls
won for the second year running, playing Gugs’ Team in the final and in the
mixed we saw local teams Bugly Astards beat Um Bongo. For final results check
out the results page.
We hope to see you all again next year; don’t forget our beach pairs

More Silverware Heads
to Exeter
The current strength of local volleyball was clearly on display at this years
Southwest Championships, when Torexe Topguns and Devon Women both made it
through to their respective finals this year. The Championships have been held
each year since 1970, to find the top team in the Southwest and South Wales
area. Exeter University Men were SW champions in 1970/71 & 1971/72, Torexe in 2000/01 and Exeter Heat in 2002/03 & 2003/04, Devon Women were Ladies champions in
2003/04, so it's been quite a few years since local teams brought back the
Silverware.
Devon Women beat Plymouth 2-0 to pick up the Ladies Title
