Chairman’s Report

The committee is going ahead with a fun tournament night at the Riverside on the 25th April all individuals welcome from clubs, this was supposed to be an awards evening but as the final results will not be in the awards will hopefully be held on a future date.

Both courts booked from 7-9pm .

Treasurer’s Report

Most money in from all clubs, there will be a final account at end of season. Moving account to Britannia building society as they produce a monthly statement. After speaking to the previous treasurer it was assumed that all clubs would have paid the goodwill deposits as it was too difficult and time consuming to go back through the previous accounts.

Fixture’s Secretary Report

Both divisions are tight at the top. Birdmen in Div 2 had to concede there last 2 matches due to the sports hall having a new floor and were unsure whether their last match would be played, this could then give the title to Exeter University .

Div 1 is between Kirton and Buzzards, if Buzzards drop any matches or sets then Kirton would take the title.

If Birdmen take the Div 2 title then the committee will need to decide whether to allow the Birdmen to move into Div 1, this would mean a change in the constitution at the AGM. Currently Exeter prison is not permitted to play in Div 1 as their court does not comply with E.V.A. rules.

Tournament Secretary Report

Plans have now been made for the Beach League to go ahead, starting early May. Permission has been granted to use the beach, on the condition that public liability insurance is taken out and Health and Safety brief. Entry forms now on the website.

The beach league needs a sub committee.

All profits from both Men’s and Ladies tournaments held in April will be donated to the E.D.V.A. fund.

Level 2 coaching course being held in Redruth, 23rd, 24th and 25th May, cost £50.

Ladies teams from North Devon have shown interest in the league, this could mean resurrecting our ladies league.

Help is needed to run the Junior Tournament in July, entry would be £5 per team, D.R. to approach Exmouth Town Council for sponsorship or the E.D.V.A. to underwrite.

Press Secretary’s Report

Marjon

A request had been received from Marjon to enter the E.D.V.A. Most clubs were in favour in principle although D.R. to approach Kevin to find out what level players would be hoping to play.
