It was round one of this season’s EDVɅ Development event for ladies and U15 teams, nine team enter and for quite a few, this was their first 6v6 match experience.
1st Place: Torexe Titans
After six matches in the round robin rounds, with four wins and one bonus point, the Torexe Titans U15 team had collected enough points to go straight through to the Cup competition along with Taunton and Ivybridge. They were joined by HKVB Spirit as the fourth team, who won their play-off match against UPVC Cyclones.
After a very close 25-24 win in the Semi-Final over Ivybridge, the team found themselves in the final against Taunton, who were equally dispatched with some excellent play for a 22-18 win and First Place. Given this was their first 6v6 event this was a massive achievement and congratulations to all of them for the improvement throughout the day.

It’s always good to see new clubs getting involved and in third place we had HKVB & Exeter Eagles combining to form HKVB Spirit.
3rd Place: HKVB Spirit
For these events a number of JuVoTo rules are used at the event. Matches are a single 15 minute set, unlimited / rolling subsitutions and a player cannot serve more than three points in a row, if they do, the team rotates one position with a new server, if they win a second set of three points, the ball goes to the opposition.
4th Place: Ivybridge
In the Plate competition, it was UPVC Cylones who took the honors over Torexe Sirens
